SPOTS IN MOOREA
1
- THE TIKI DIVE.
This is one of the most enriching underwater excursions to be found
in Moorea, not so much for the seascapes encountered along the way but
because of the large and varied fauna which never refuses a meal. This
is the specially of Tahiti’s sister-island: feeding all these many species,
all for the greatest pleasure of the divers. Hence perch, balisters,
nasons, chaetodons, merous, becs de canne, Napoleon fish and gray sharks
respond eagerly to the invitation of the clubs instructors to a feast
which often also attracts a few lemon sharks.

- THE TAOTAHA INLET.
Here
a succession of canyons provide stunning lighting effects at a relatively
small depth. Parrot-fish, carangues, platax, loach, lutjans, and surgeon
fish seem to wheel about between the theads of light.

- NAPOLEON-FISH PLATEAU.
Three
minutes away from the Taotoi inlet, a succession of valleys where Napoleon-fish,
balistes, carangues, surgeon-fish and seaeels criss-cross interminably.
